EXPERIENCE:

I have taught students from Kindergarten through tenth grade at one time or another in my career.  The majority of my time has been spent in Middle School, which I feel is "home" for me.  Throughout my classroom years, I have taught Language Arts, Reading, Science, and Social Studies.

Learning never stops and education is constantly changing.  Being able to share new programs, new strategies, and a different view with students and teachers is a great pleasure.  As a Lead Instructional Teacher for eight years, I was able to do all three of those things.  When I moved into the Media Center, as the Media Specialist, I have continued to share what I learn with both students and staff.  The media center and all that it entails offers a global view of the world through books as well as technology.

The media center is definitely a bridge from our community to the surrounding communities and the big, wide world.  I hope to facilitate that bridge so that teachers and staff, parents and students, and our community have access to information that makes each individual more knowledgeable and more aware of what is going on in the world, and how each person can use that knowledge to make an impact.  It truly "takes a village to raise a child" and working together with students, parents, teachers, and administrators allows me to be part of a student's village.
