EXPERIENCE:

I began teaching in 1987 in Alamance County, where I remained until I had children, at which time I took a short leave from my career.  When I returned, I taught in a private school setting for five years but really wanted to return to public education.  I taught in Guilford County from that point until I came to WMS, formerly ATMS, in 2016.  I have equally taught math and language arts throughout the years, often having both content areas in a given year.  When asked which is my favorite, I have to respond, "Both!"  I've enjoyed being able to have the chance to teach two vastly different content areas in each of the middle school grade levels.

BIOGRAPHY:

I am wife to a wonderful man, Steve, who is retired from the Greensboro Police Department K9 Unit.  He continues to work at the department in the capacity of speaking with students in the schools and other community groups.  He continues to use his dogs in these demos.  We have two children Hannah (Tim) and Hunter (Chasity), both married, and we have five grandchildren, Oaklyn, Hartlea, Austyn, Millie, and Camden (coming summer 2022)!  Though the children are grown and married, the nest is not empty, we have four fur babies still at home, all dogs.  My hobbies are exercise, reading, photography, and sign language interpreting at church.  I love the beach and the mountains and feel blessed to live right in the middle of both!
